I have always loved writing, no scratch that, it is actually more complex than that and more accurate to say, I have always had conversations in my head. Yea! Weird I know, but let me explain properly and if you are honest, you will see that almost everyone, and when I say almost everyone, I actually want to say everyone, but I think it wise to leave a 1% probability in case am wrong **winks**. Anyways, back to what I was saying, almost everyone have a degree of conversation in their head, whether it is just mentally calculating things before you say or do them, weighing your pros and cons, going back and forth; fewer of us, more consciously that others. But then, it makes plenty of sense, because human beings are spirit beings and the real us is inside us… but that is a discussion for another day that I would come to eventually.

So I was saying, I have conversations in my head and when I say conversations, I mean full blown dialogue. Most times I think I may have multiple personality and the other me lives in my head. So time after time, I find both ‘mes’ having conversations with each other. Yea! Saying it aloud actually makes me realize how really weird I am. Yes, so I have always had these conversations in my head and at a point thought ‘you should write this down’, at worse, five years down the road, you can see how much you’ve grown or not and at best, you might engage someone and understand yourself better; so here I am.

Alright, this blog is going to be about a lot of things, my complex thoughts, self, my good and bad daily experiences with my family,  friends, strangers and services, my opinion on people I have met, books and news I had read and listened to, it would be about serious stuff, annoying stuff, funny stuff; It is going to be about everything… But be advised, it would all be in my opinion, I would not speak for others, just myself and I hope with time as I get followers, you can share your opinion too **fingers crossed** – otherwise it would just be read by my children and grandchildren and they can say ‘oh my God! Mother was crazy!!!

Also, take note, seeing as this is going to be based on opinions and as humans, we are always growing and our perspectives changing, I may from time to time, change my opinion about things, thus, retracting once in a while; after all, flexibility is a good thing or so am told. However, I promise to be totally honest; just so we are clear, I am going to define honesty from a book I read a while back, not sure what the name was but it was one of those books on love and relationship. It said something like, honesty has to do with feelings, how you feel at the moment about something; truth, on the other hand, is a statement of fact, it doesn’t change whether or not your feelings change. So while someone may be honest with you, it does not necessarily mean they are being truthful; at least so the book said.

Yes, so this is my blog, Conversations: the journal of a complex mind, my mind; hopefully with time, your mind as well…

  1. I really like this.. Got me laughing. Hahahaha… Nice one! Never keep the wit out of your conversations

  2. hi, I got linked here by a friend of yours, Oma.

This is pretty good writing, very intelligent and also quite visceral. The humour too is very refreshing. 🙂 Please keep up the good work, it’s always a great thing to see people express themselves honestly and intellectually, we could do with a lot more of this in our country, right now.

By the way, everyone has conversations with themselves, so you’re not that wierd! Unless, perhaps, these conversations are of a schizophrenic nature! 😮
But I’m sure that’s not the case (I hope!).

    Have a great day!

  3. Hi Lunartsd, Thanks a lot for the comment; I am humbled by the complements. About talking to myself, it is good to know am not alone. I am pretty such I am not schizophrenic, the major difference being that I do realize its all in my head.

I do hope you would keep reading and commenting. I will try my best to entertain you and if am lucky, challenge you. thanks again

  4. You’re most welcome!

You’re certainly not alone, as far as conversations with yourself are concerned. I believe it’s a sign of a very active mind. one that’s constantly turning thoughts over, even when there’s no one to share those thoughts with. I do it all the time, as do so many other people, and I think aloud too, as many do, likewise. In some extreme cases, I even think aloud in various accents. I’m not really sure why, perhaps it’s more entertaining that way. And I have a feeling I’m not alone in that regard.

I find your perspective intriguing, and so I will check to see what’s new from time to time. And if Oma recommended this blog, I’m sure it’s bound to be entertaining.

I also look forward to any challenges you may have in store. Mental stimulation is very important to me, through all the faculties. And since this journal is about a complex mind, I’m sure it will attract similar minds in no time at all. Complex minds do, after all, think alike! (sorry, couldn’t resist that one!).

    Cheers!

    1. Very funny lunartsd, especially the part on thinking in different accents. For me, its not really different accents, but different characters (we are crazy). I am quite interested in these faculties you think through (i hope you don’t mind sharing)

Thanks for the encouragement and hopefully I see you more here.

      Cheers yourself!!

      1. There’s an old Seal song from way back in the 90’s (yeah, I’ve been around for awhile!), with the words: “…we’re never gonna survive, unless we get a little crazy… ” Being normal is very relative, and highly overrated. Please, feel free to express your craziness once in awhile, even if only in private. We all need the freedom it brings.

We all feel, interpret and respond through all our senses and mental faculties. Each and everyone of us is capable of communicating with various faculties, often simultaneously. We can all process things on many different levels: via the intellect; through visual interpretations, aural; and so on. There’s as much knowledge available to us through what we see and hear, as through what we read and are told. I’m very deep into art and music, and I live for visual stimulation through the arts as well as aural stimulation through music. There are so many things that just can’t be expressed through mere words, written or spoken. They can only be felt through the power of the arts. And the faculties for interpreting this kind of knowledge are surprisingly under- developed in many people. And, as a result, they miss out on some of the finest experiences in life. Now you see what I mean by mental stimulation through all the faculties. These are some of the things that make up a “complex mind”, as I’m sure you’ll agree with me.

I will definitely come by here regularly. Although, I admit, my responses are always late. Apologies, I’m not really an active blogger. Also I have to manually check for updates on this page via a browser, and doing this from a phone is not exactly convenient. This also makes commenting on each post cumbersome, which is something I’d like to do. Unfortunately the WordPress app for Android doesn’t do much more than allow you create and manage your own posts.

Do you, perchance, post this journal on facebook as well? I find it easier to read and comment on people’s posts from there. I actually setup a WordPress page for my T-shirt designs, but managing it from a phone proved a bit difficult. So I reluctantly setup a facebook account for them. I’m not a fan of facebook, but I admit it’s a quick and easy way of sharing info with people. And, just as importantly, of getting quick feedback from them. At least, with regard to mobile readers.

        All the best!

        1. Edit: ……………
Actually, I just figured out how to read and reply to posts from within the Android app. I had to first follow your blog from within the browser page, and then it became available within the reader feature of the app. Which is where I’m typing this from. Guess we really do learn new things everyday!

Now I can follow and comment much easier than before.

        2. Hi Lunartsd, thanks for educating me and yes, I do agree on the importance of arts. I appreciate the commitment to my blog, actually both my blog and I thank you.

With regards to posting on Facebook, i don’t really. What I do is put in a link of each post on my FB page so eventually it still brings you back to my WordPress page

At the moment I am trying to increase activity on my WordPress page so I wouldn’t be posting my thoughts on FB just yet

However, I could suggest that you create a bookmark link on your browser for visiting my page, it doesn’t take away the mobile stress completely but hopefully, it reduces it. I do same for the blogs I visit.

Again, my blog and I thank you.

          1. You’re most welcome!

I’ll keep visiting your blog via the Android app, although nothing beats typing on a full sized computer keyboard, but, at least, I can read all the posts easily without having to open up page after page within a mobile browser.

I’ll comment on your other posts over time. I just typed out a comment on the “identity ” post, and while trying to upload it, a call came in and the app was too stupid to retain the text. So I’ve lost it all! But, nevermind I’ll retype whatever I can remember, and then move on to other posts. But from now I’ll first type my comments in a note editor then copy and paste into the comment box. So that might slow the process even futher… (sometimes you just can’t have it all! )

            Take care.

            1. Well, what do know? My other comment posted after all! Guess the app isn’t so stupid… which is a good thing cos I had no idea how to start all over again. I really should give this app the benefit of the doubt!

              1. Wow! “superhero “? That’s such a generous compliment! Thanks! No one’s ever said that before.

But, seriously, from one creative mind to another, it’s the least I can do. We all need to support each other, especially at the beginning. We both have one thing in common; we have personal ideas we’d like to share with as many people as possible, but we do so in different ways. So I can very easily appreciate the importance of daily traffic to your blog. I have a deviant art account and I appreciate it when people from around the world view my submitted artwork, and comment and critique. Not only does it help you learn to do things better, it encourages you to keep on creating everyday. So I hope you’ll find time to check out my work and comment likewise.

                  1. There you go again with the “superhero” compliment! Now you make me want to do something really grand. For, as Spiderman’s uncle Ben would say: ‘with great power comes great responsibility’. Therefore I will proceed to comment on every one of your posts, ‘superhero’ style!

And let me state this for the record: you are very smart. That’s why I take the time to read your posts, and comment on them. The first time I visited your blog was because Omawumi asked me to. But it was the content of your posts, and your honest and down to earth style of writing that kept me coming back, time after time. And that says a lot.

You named this blog aptly, and I’ll be the first to say that you lived up to that name! Your mother would be proud! And so should you.
